Terms of Service

1. Who can use dare.diy

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use dare.diy. If you're under 18, you confirm that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Broker subscriptions and payment features require you to be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction (typically 18+).

2. Your account

You're responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure.
• All activity that happens under your account.
• Giving us accurate information when you sign up.

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@dare.diy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create legal or security risk.

3. What dare.diy is — and isn't

dare.diy curates scholarships, .edu discounts, AI tools, gigs, sweepstakes, and other money-related opportunities in one vault. We also publish editorial content and run automated imports from public RSS and curated sources (reviewed by our team before publishing where applicable).

Important limitations:

• We don't guarantee that any opportunity will be available, valid, or paid out.
• Eligibility, deadlines, and amounts are set by third parties — always verify on the source.
• We aren't responsible for the actions, products, or services of third parties we link to.
• Nothing on dare.diy is financial, legal, or tax advice. Talk to a professional for decisions that matter.

4. Free features & newsletter

Most of the vault is free to browse. If you opt into our weekly newsletter, you can unsubscribe any time. Newsletter and account emails are governed by our Privacy Policy.

5. Broker subscription

Broker is a paid tier (currently USD $11/month) processed by Stripe. Broker features may include affiliate link overrides, priority access, performance stats, and other tools described on the Broker page.

By subscribing, you agree that:

• Charges recur monthly until you cancel through the Stripe billing portal.
• Subscriptions are subject to our No Refund Policy — all sales are final except for verified billing errors.
• Broker affiliate overrides must comply with each program's rules and our Affiliate Disclosure.
• We may change Broker features or pricing with reasonable notice.

6. Affiliate & sponsored links

Some links on dare.diy are affiliate links. Brokers may replace certain links with their own. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.

7. User submissions

When you submit an opportunity, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you're allowed to share it. We may edit, reject, or remove submissions that are misleading, duplicate, expired, or harmful.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use dare.diy to:

• Scrape, copy, or republish our content or database without permission.
• Misrepresent who you are or impersonate someone else.
• Disrupt, attack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or admin tools.
• Upload malware, spam, or fraudulent opportunities.
• Use the Service for anything illegal or harmful.
• Circumvent Broker paywalls, rate limits, or security controls.

9. Content & intellectual property

The Service, including its design, copy, and curated structure, belongs to dare.diy unless otherwise noted. Third-party names, logos, and opportunity details belong to their respective owners. See our Copyright Policy for DMCA and usage details.

10. Privacy & cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (account info, usage logs, Stripe customer IDs for Brokers, email delivery via Resend, hosting on Supabase and Cloudflare). Our Cookie Policy explains session and functional cookies.

11. Accessibility

We work toward an accessible experience for all users. See our Accessibility Policy for our commitments and how to report barriers.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, dare.diy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost scholarships, gig income, affiliate commissions, or subscription fees. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.
